California Burrito Cheesesteak

One of the best Sandwiches I have made off the Blackstone for sure! All the ingredients of the California Burrito that you love with the Carne Asada, the French Fries, and the Guacamole, but adding the element of a classic Cheesesteak as well! The Bell Peppers, Onions, along with the American and Provolone Cheeses really make this mashup a hit!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Shaved Ribeye Steak

  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, Sliced

  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, Sliced

  • 1 Medium White Onion, Sliced or Diced

  • Taco/Fajita Seasoning (Spanglish Asadero is a Really Fantastic Carne Asada Rub)

  • Provolone Cheese

  • White American Cheese

  • Taco Bell Chipotle Creamy Sauce (I found it at Walmart)

  • Guacamole (Make your Own, or Store Bought….HEB’s is Fantastic)

  • Cooked French Fries (I love the Checker’s Seasoned French Fries, Cook them according to package instructions)

  • Italian Hoagie Rolls (Amoroso’s if you can find them)

Directions:

Start by sautéing the Bell Peppers and Onions on the hot, oiled, Blackstone Griddle Top on one side until the Bell Peppers are tender, and the Onions caramelize a little.

Then, throw the Shaved Ribeye down on the oiled griddle, and use the spatulas to break the meat up. Once the meat is broken up a bit, season with the Taco/Fajita/Carne Asada Seasoning, and toss so the meat gets evenly seasoned.

Once the meat is fully cooked, portion the meat on the griddle to individual sandwich portions, and top with the Onions and Peppers, then Two Slices of White American and Two Slices of Provolone Cheese. Spray a small amount of water around the meat portions, and then cover with a Blackstone Griddle dome, to melt.

Remove from grill, and it’s time to prepare the bread. Layer both sides of the roll with the Taco Bell Chipotle Sauce, and then one side with Guacamole. Then, your Meat/Cheese/Peppers/Onions mix, and finally the cooked French Fries.
